Children are invited to either Sunday School or Joyful Noise after worship begins.   Childcare is available for infants and toddlers (3 months – 2 years) from 9:20am until 12:15pm for those parents who would like the opportunity to be child-free during worship service.

Sunday School meets during worship service except the first Sunday of each month, which is also Communion Sunday.  All children will participate in a mission outreach project.  Some of their activities have included decorating lunch bags for Salvation Army, writing letters to community helpers, and creating art to raise money as Little Stewpot Stewards. Children rejoin the congregation at the time of communion to enable us to partake together as a family.

The following classes are offered each Sunday:

3 years of age – kindergarten experience the Bible through story, games, crafts, and song.

Godly Play
1st-4th graders experience the Bible through a story presented with manipulatives followed by individual reflection time in a Montessori style classroom

5th-8th graders experience the Bible through story and reflection
High School aged children meet before church at 10:30 for discussions using the "Caffeine" small discussion series

Children's Choir

The Central Children’s Choir, led by Joanna Habermann, is comprised of children and youth in grades K-8.  The choir's diverse choral repertoire includes songs from various cultures, songs in foreign languages, and music from different historical time periods, as well as traditional hymns, spirituals and folk songs.  Children in choir learn to read music from a choral octavo and hymnal, sight read simple rhythms and melodies, and develop aural skills.  The Children’s Choir offers its musical gifts in Central's worship service approximately once a month, sometimes in conjunction with the Chancel Choir and Chancel Bells.  Children from the wider community desiring to participate in the Central Children’s Choir are invited to join, with approval of the director.  Rehearsal is on Sundays, 9:30-10:30 AM, September - May
